Below is a list of suggested reading, supplies to bring, and homework for each session of the Wheel.

Session One

What to Bring:

  • 3 stones for your medicine pouch [your mesa]. These stones are preferably from places on the land that you have a relationship to. You may purchase some “exotics” if you’re called to. 
  • Cloth or pouch to hold stones.
  • Notebook and writing utensils.
  • Lunch, water, and snacks for each day.

Homework:

  • Continue to work with the 3 Archetypal Energies.
  • Cultivate relationship with your Mesa.
  • Incorporate practices into daily life:
    • Kath meditation, fire breathing, and body based awareness.
    • Self Illuminations
    • Earth Paintings
    • Journey to the Underworld, get to know your compassionate helping spirits.
  • Reading for Session Two.

 

Session Two

Pre-Workshop Reading:

We recommend you read at least two of the books in depth to prepare for in-class discussions. 

What to Bring:

  • 3 new stones or sacred objects to add to your Mesa stones from last Session.
  • A cloth or pouch to hold your stones, you may need a new one from last Session.
  • Rattle or Frame Drum
  • Notebook and writing utensils.
  • Lunch, water, and snacks for each day.

Homework:

  • Practice Non-Judgment, Non-Attachment, and Non-Suffering.
  • Self- Inquiry- Find a partner from class and practice- try for once a week!
  • Practice awareness of Truth vs. perception and projection.
  • Continue shamanic practices like earth paintings, journeying, illuminations, re-sets, etc.
  • Continue practicing fire breathing and body-based awareness techniques.
  • Reading for Session Three.

 

 Session Three

Pre-Workshop Reading:

If you like Being, by Florian Schlosser try his other books Given and Space! Focusing, by Eugene Gendlin is parlicularly useful for those having trouble with body sensing. You can also watch videos of A.H. Almaas talks on YouTube.

What to Bring:

  • 3 new stones or sacred objects to add to your Mesa stones from last Session.
  • A cloth or pouch to hold your stones, you may need a new one from last Session.
  • Rattle or Frame Drum
  • Notebook and writing utensils.
  • Lunch, water, and snacks for each day.

Homework:

  • Practice Non-Doing, Non-Engagement, and no colluding with the Consensual.
  • Viewing actions through Triangle of Dis-empowerment
  • Work with Essential Strength, the Red. Notice false Strength in daily life.
  • Earth Painting exploring True Nature Strength.
  • Continue shamanic practices like earth paintings, journeying, illuminations, re-sets, etc.
  • Continue practicing Self- Inquiry, fire breathing and body-based awareness techniques.
  • Reading for Session Four.

 

Session Four

Pre-Workshop Reading:

Review Byron Katie and Eugene Gendlin. Catch up on reading list from other sessions!

What to Bring:

  • 3 new stones or sacred objects to add to your Mesa stones from last Session.
  • A cloth or pouch to hold your stones, you may need a new one from last Session.
  • Rattle or Frame Drum
  • Notebook and writing utensils.
  • Lunch, water, and snacks for each day.

Homework:

  • Practice honoring Sacred Discomfort.
  • Cycle of Identification, Differentiation, Integration and Transcendence.
  • Continue shamanic practices like earth paintings, journeying, illuminations, re-sets, etc.
  • Continue practicing Self- Inquiry, fire breathing and body-based awareness techniques.
  • Reading for Session Five.

 

Session Five

Pre-Workshop Reading:

Pick one of the three A.H. Almaas books listed. If you want a real challenge, read The Pearl Beyond Price!

What to Bring:

  • Your Mesa
  • Rattle or Frame Drum
  • Notebook and writing utensils.
  • Lunch, water, and snacks for each day.

Homework:

  • Continue shamanic practices like earth paintings, journeying, illuminations, re-sets, etc.
  • Continue practicing Self- Inquiry, fire breathing and body-based awareness techniques.
